Tom Duhoux became aware that although denim is produced at a very large scale worldwide, it uses one of the most resource intensive materials: cotton. After looking into the negative impacts that such an established and dominating material has on the environment, Duhoux decided to launch his brand HNST. The very many textiles that end up in household waste and then incineration also played an important role in his decision to launch the brand.
